Ms. Ciara Lillis

I grew up and trained in Ireland, then moved to the UAE in 2021 having lived in Australia and the United Kingdom for the past 9 years. I completed my Professional Diploma in Education at University College Dublin in 2013. I started working at GEMS Westminster as the Head of English last September and I have recently been promoted to Deputy Head of Secondary.  Since joining GEMS, I have designed and developed a new English Curriculum Map with the team. It is important we embed a passion for learning amongst our students. When students have a good command of English it will allow them to have more opportunities in life. Reading and writing proficiently will open up a world of inspiration and creativity for all of our students. Our aim is to support our students through the development of creative and engaging lessons across all departments.

I love to travel and have spent time in Zambia and India volunteering, where I visited orphanages and HIV/AIDs prolific areas to improve reading and writing in Zambia to delivering professional development to teachers in India.
